Spring 2012 Safety Week

Student Government’s Campus Safety and Women’s Resource Agencies, in partnership with the Texas Orange Jackets, are hosting a spring campus safety 3-day long event! Come check out our fun programs, grab some free spring safety packets from UHS and t-shirts from SG, and learn how you can stay safer and healthier!

Monday, March 5:

“Get Sexy. Get Consent.”

7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
CAL 100

This is a highly interactive one-hour program that examines how we negotiate sex and consent, boundaries and safety. How do you know someone else wants what you want? What is consent? What does consent look and sound like? Do you get it?

Tuesday, March 6:

“Owen Egerton: Best of Sex Ed”

5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
RecSports Games Room

Owen Egerton (Master Pancake Theater, Alamo Drafthouse) is our guide through a rip-roaring collection of some of the most bizarre sexual education films from the 1930′s to modern day. Learn how premarital sex can lead to heartache, insanity, and explosive car accidents. View the creative ways Disney animates syphilis. Hum along with the ’70s classic ballad “VD is for Everybody!” Groove to the hard core abstinence rap. Seriously, this stuff is amazing! Live music from Southpaw Jones, special guests and a chance re-educate yourself on the birds and the bees! You’ll be more confused than ever!

“Self-Defense Class by UTPD”

7:30-9:30 p.m.
GRE 1.104

Join Student Government and Texas Orange Jackets as you learn how to protect yourself while getting to hit a UTPD police officer! Free pizza will be provided.

You don’t want to miss this! Come check out spring safety week!
